Georgia Fowler grew up between Australia and New Zealand, and was discovered at age twelve while accompanying her older sister to a casting at a local modeling agency. She received her first break walking in the 2012 Chanel show in Versailles, and since then has made select runway appearances for designers such as Jeremy Scott, DKNY, Sonia Rykiel, and Cushnie et Ochs.

Georgia has been shot on numerous occasions by photographers Rankin, Daniel Jackson, Ben Watts and Guy Aroch, and has also worked with Sebastien Kim, Vincent Peters, Diega Uchitel, Alexei Hay, Liz Collins, David Slijper, Matt Jones, Francesco Carrozzini, Christopher Ferguson and Yelena Yemchuk. She has appeared in Italian Vogue, Australian Vogue, ELLE, Jalouse and L’Officiel, and been featured in advertising for H&M, Banana Republic, French Connection, and Triangl Swimwear.

The effortlessly sexy Georgia currently resides in New York City. She is finishing her psychology degree and enjoys spending quality time with her family (her father is a professional golfer and their paths often cross around the world), fitness, and the bustling nightlife in NYC.

Interview with Harper’s Bazaar, March 2016 (excerpt)
by Megan McClusky & Alice Hart

If you weren’t modelling, which career would you pursue and why?

“I would possibly be an engineer, I loved maths, design and science. I studied a BSc for the first four years I was travelling, but it became too demanding as my modelling work became busier. Hopefully I can finish it off one day.”

What would you say has been the highlight of your career so far?

“Walking for Victoria’s Secret and Miu Miu, shooting French and Italian Vogue, Love Magazine and shooting the cover of Australian Harper’s Bazaar.”

How do you spend your free time?

“Café Hop. I love to meet friends for coffee and food, or wine if it’s after five.”

Do you have any travel tips for those visiting your home town?

“In Sydney you’ve got to do the Bronte Coastal walk or visit the beaches south of Sydney – they’re idyllic. In Auckland you must take a ferry to Waiheke Island and do a winery tour. The West Coast beaches are breathtaking; the black sand with rugged terrain and huge surf isn’t like any other beach in the world. There are also many beautiful hiking trails like Fairy Falls hike to get in touch with nature and smell the freshest air you’ll find.”

What is your favourite form of exercise?

“I try to mix up my work-outs daily to keep the body guessing and make it interesting for myself. Try classes, they’re motivating and often make you work harder than you would yourself. In New York, I mix in reformed Pilates like SLT (Strengthen, Lengthen, Tone), boxing at Overthrow or Rumble, personal training with Rob at Gotham, or a good spin or weights class at Equinox.”

What is your dream shoot?

“Dream shoots are on a beach, it’s where I feel most at peace, although I love becoming a different character and dressing up in obscure locations. The best shoots are always the ones where you’re working with amazing teams of friends.”

What kind of advice would you give to new girls to the industry?

“Don’t give up and don’t take rejection personally, casting for jobs does have a direction and it’s not always about whether you’re the most beautiful or not. (If you succeed in this, tell me how.)”

Is there a model’s career that you admire and why?

“I admire models like Elle Macpherson who have created businesses with their name. I would love to work alongside brands collaborating in the future or create a product for my own company. I also admire Natalia Vodianova because of her charitable work.”

What is your life motto?

“Be kind.”

Let’s talk about favourites. What about…

…music? “A Tribe Called Quest.”

…movies? “A recent favourite is Hunt for the Wilderpeople, a gorgeous New Zealand film you will giggle your way through.”

…books? Little Bee by Chris Cleave.”

…food? “Eggs and avocado… ooh does coffee count?”
