Hannah Holman’s Interview for Vogue Australia Online 27 February 2015
Utah-born model Hannah Holman was discovered at the age of 15 in a shopping centre. She is now 23 and aside from a few breaks from the job, she has done editorials for nearly every major international edition of Vogue and has walked for a lengthy list of fashion designers. Today, as she is announced as the face of Australian brand Cue alongside Ruby Jean Wilson and Louise Van Der Vorst, Holman tells us about her post-modelling plans and becoming wiser (and girlier) each year.
What do you enjoy about working with Australians and an Australian brand?
“I love Australia’s laid back style. I’ve had an amazing time shooting here. The Cue collection is so easy to wear and the shapes are really flattering. Also, Aussies rock!”
What is your favourite piece from the Cue autumn/winter ’15 collection?
“The black knitted jumpsuit is so cool and I also love the faux fur coat!”
When you have free time in Australia, what do you like to do?
“It’s an obvious one for me… the beach!”
How do you look after your blonde hair?
“Less is more! I wash it every other day and I use lots of conditioner. Lucky for me, it’s not bleached, only tinted!”
What’s the best beauty trick you’ve learnt from a make-up artist?
“I’ve learnt that skin is important. It needs to be moisturised and a facial massage is always great for a healthy glow.”
Do you think about what you will do after modelling?
“All the time! I definitely want to get into acting. I am also excited to see what doors open in the next couple of years. With all the travelling I do, I never know who I’m going to meet or what’s next.”
How do you feel like your modelling career has evolved since you started?
“Although I’ve taken a few hiatuses, my career hasn’t changed much since I’ve started, but it’s about to…”
We last spoke to you in September 2013 when you were our Miss Vogue #11. What’s changed in your life since then?
“Lots. I’m at least a year wiser for starters! I moved to London for a year and am now headed back to live in New York again. I love that city. I think I‘m more girly somehow. I love flowers, and I love getting my hair blow dried (for myself, not just on the job).”
